Buddha Sentenza

Timeless progressive and psychedelic Krautrock 2013! Buddha Sentenza dives deeply into the early 70s sound like not many bands nowadays do. The quintet combines authentic "free-spirit-feeling" and a great musicianship to create various catchy, intense and interesting arrangements in their seven long tracks. Founded in 2008 in Heidelberg, Germany, the searing strings and pounding drums condensed rapidly to form a nebulous cloud of loosely jammed, spaced-out, rocking riffs, swirling Hammond organ, rotating freely around some of the most ancient soundscapes from the astral end of the Pink Floyd to the depths to the depths of galaxies such as Black Sabbath. Coogans Bluff

"Magic Bubbles" is the second longplayer of the young (Berlin based) hardrock quartet, Coogans Bluff. Their main influence goes back to the freewheelin´ 1970s , the time when music still was music. Fresh - with high octane and a lot passion these excellent musicians take you on a trip in time to present their synthesis of"natural-heavy-kickass-blues-rock&roll/krautrock". The eleven ompositions were recorded analog and express a soulful, intense and atmospheric vibe of straight forward heavy rock, with aggressive but also epic and melodic guitarwork, catchy and remarkable vocals, enriched with psychedelic, experimental elements by Hammond-organ, Rhodes-piano and trippy horneffects. Doctor Cyclops

Italian power the trio “Doctor Cyclops” puts down with its debut an extraordinarily authentic and fulminant marching 70s hardrock album with “New Wave OF British Heavy Metal” but also US-Westcoast blues influences. It captivates with raw energy and its wealth of intelligent psychedelic and progressive facets, powerful rhythm and mystical concept with a few flute/organ flashes, but is mainly guitar driven. Chris Draghi (vocals/guitar) knows in special kind how to melt his epic guitar riffs and wailing solos with his sensitive and catchy singing and provides a huge emotional intensity, on the one hand very mighty, but also haunted and desperately, completely in the style of groups like Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, Blue Öystercult or today's like Graveyard, Witchcraft, Cathedral. "Oscuropasso" is the second album of Italian hard rock trio Doctor Cyclops. In a genre where as it seems since Black Sabbath most everything has had been said, these folks come up with a very intense and exciting album. Their actual output has pure 1973 retro feeling, where epic heavy riffs and rhythms melt with psychedelic, progressive breaks and make you dive into their euphoric guitar soundscapes. The atmospherically well balanced vocals create an important reference point in the five arrangement-extensive songs from 6 to 16 min lengths. The well produced and exciting spectrum of complexity and catchiness makes this album grow more and more after each listen and leads all those who like it HEAVY toward deep satisfaction... [more]

Dunst

Originally recorded in 2011 and digitally released in 2013, the second and final full-length "Archimedes Waffen" from German progressive heavy psych instrumentalists Dunst sees a revived presence in the physical realm thanks to a vinyl issue on Electric Magic Records and this CD-release by World In Sound. Dunst released their self-titled debut in 2011, and here on the follow-up, they come across well established within a heavy psychedelic approach to jamming. Over the course of six extended tracks, they explore the spaces between such heavyweights as Colour Haze, My Sleeping Karma, Causa Sui... [more]

El Cuy

EL Cuy is a "kick ass" power trio from Lima, Peru which seems to be one of the most intense Rock´n´Roll cities for heavy Underground Rock today. (they´re friends with La Ira De Dios, who brought the massive-Peru-Sound live to Europe in 2006!) The 10 songs on this album impressively reflect the dirty old school Sabbath/Zeppelin sound, truely organic HIGH OCTANE ROCK. Look forward to intense but melodic cuts like Animal which can be heard on Trip In Time Vol.2 (Psychedelic Rock Reflections), Iraqi, Juntos y Separados and El Vertigo will surely find you cranking the volume up. All three musicians showcase a totally unique sound - Black Sabbath meets Cream&Ventures! Marcos Coifman (also in Reino Emirtano) plays a hard driving bass sound... [more]

Embryo

Are you ready to bring the authentic roots of Free-Flowing Krautrock Jams and true festival feeling to your home? Embryo and the Burg Herzberg Festival (Europe´s biggest Hippe Event) is a long story....40 years ago, when the first one happened in the old castle, Embryo was there. After that performance they even got robbed, a blue painted violin and a good amp were gone for ever. In all the years following the festival got bigger and changed to a different place to find room for the growing audience and stages. Embryo played there many times in different line-ups. This performance was a sort of chill out act for the whole festival. The nucleus of this band (Jens, Lothar, Mik. Marja, Christian) had grown through all the many years on tour to a steady line-up... La Garúa

La Garúa is a Blues-based Heavy Rock band with serious Pysch influences and a vintage sound heavily infused with smoke, booze and decadence.Formed in Lima in 2010 by Marcos Coifman (Reino Ermitaño), Chino Burga (La Ira de Dios) and newcomer Alonso Guerrero at the drums, La Garúa drinks deep from the soul of it's grey city and pours it out in the way of classic 70's heavy blues rock, with a sound of its own that is also %100 South America. Sung in spanish, their first album "Panza de Burro Thunder Blues" is recommended for lovers of all things heavy and bluesy, trippy but raw. Spaceguitar flashbacks to the "Hacia El Sol Rojo" era by La Ira De Dios guranteed. (This record is bad for your liver!)... [more]

Gunslingers

Here is the self-confessed Slinger’s electric companion, a huge onset tour de force hailing from the realm of San Pedro (FR) and that should cause weird effects through Invention’s great (golden) Ass. First came Gunslingers, raising against the Big Bullshit, then came No More Invention, wearing a nine-acts sling of an hilarious outrage, introducing the ultimate assault of her illegitimate 3 sons, also known as massacre-rock deviant inquisitors_ a French deconstructionist trio who needed to abuse the artifacts of some Lost Rock Synthesis in one Total, furious & quintessential record, like an evil paradox of Rock. Expect pure apotheosis of wild horror biker freakouts, acid avant-punk & trippy psych-noise with no respite from the Action breakneck speed... [more]
Who should have thought some incoming spawn would survive No More Invention (2008) ? — Yes Sirs, inside the Grand Procreator’s consumed ashes, still half lying half standing thus was some rebel mass endowed with the urge to appear in face of the fallen stuff. It would be chemically determined as a following sacrificial revenge after Invention got lost 2 years ago in a Rock located in San Pedro Ville, France. And then came rebellion appearing in its entire regained nudity, though it was given a load of Seltz water so it can endure its own terrifying blast power. Here it is — now Maniacs & Zealots, be afraid of intending to tickle the Beast from your players ! World In Sound presents Manifesto Zero, Gunslingers’ second atrocious little deformed baby... IH8 Camera

The experimental guitar-driven musician collective, iH8 Camera (="i hate camera") from Antwerp, Belgium was formed by 2004, around the nucleus of the “Love Substitutes”. iH8 Camera performs rarely but frequently live and in changing line-ups and Trip In Time discovered them for the Burg Herzberg Festival 2006 (Europe´s biggest Hippie Fest). The Sextett arrived at the Freakstage just in time for their set - ready to plug in and perform this mindblowing 50 min improvisational Freak-Out-Show….their odyssey seemed long and must have been impressive to the band; finally they got inspired to name their 7 songs after cities from the area which have been passed on this trip, lyrics reflect the “true” stories about life on road! Karmic Society

The Quartet was founded in 2005, in Heidelberg (Germany) and plays with a great level of proficiency and on authentic equipment to get their analog 70’s Sound. Mostly instrumental jams, the Karmic Society reflects the traditional Krautrock jam-spirit of Kraan, Message, Epitaph, combined with US-Westcoast influences, but also progressive-fusion-Rock elements like Mahavishnu “McLaughlin”, Chick Corea or Keith Emerson. Besides a unique rhythm section, you can look forward to beautiful melodies and variative compositions fitting perfectly to a festival sunny afternoon. A massive, swirling Hammond Organ by Winnie Rimbach-Sator (also plays keys with Treacle People WIS 2001) is in communication with excessive Stratocaster guitar solos... [more]

Kirkbinsinek

World In Sound´s first release from Turkey delivers pure and timeless oriental heavy psychedelic Prog Rock from Istanbul. Besides the usual instruments, they also use a Cello to create a truly unique and deep atmosphere, where the mystical vibe of "One Thousand and One Nights" meets Pink Floyd and King Crimson. Nine long epics reflect a wide and unpredictable, well-balanced spectrum of arrangements, rhythms, melodies, and climax. With no doubt these lads continue the great 1970s Turkish psychedelic rock tradition of Erkin Koray, Mogollar or Baris Manco. [more]

La Ira De Dios

It seems that La Ira De Dios from Lima, Peru, refined their concept for a unique, raw and massive “wall of sound” for their third album. With the debut "Hacia el Sol Rojo" and the second album "Archaeopterix", released on the German stoner/space label Nasoni records, the group were quickly met with wide acceptance of fans and excellent critics from the international media - both albums reflect primarily the Hawkwind-style space rock with mostly long tunes and effects; (this concept now covered with Obskuria -WIS 2003 features all La Ira members). NOW the trippiest Heavy Underground band from Lima brings this new album to life “Cosmos…. Kaos….Destruccion” containing 8 songs, riff orientated 3-7 min cuts with strong MC5, Motörhead and other "punk" influences... [more]
MAXIMUMVOLUMEROCKANDROLL!!! (Part 4) The Peruvian psych/space freaks are back, with some rural reflections of the 60s acid punk era with its catchy, raw & animalistic high energy performances. Can a riot be started by the slow and on low volume? – NO- the title says it all (a mix of The Clash classic and Peruvian Andean mythology). Since their fabulous debut album “Hacia El Sol Rojo” the group evolved into a mighty tight “wall of sound” (not just live on stage); but still keeping their sensitive feeling to hypnotize a wide spectrum of Rock freaks who like it intense! – Look forward to hard driven riff/solo guitars, pumpin overdosed bass, crazy´n´wild marching tribal drums, combined with outer space effects & noises... The Peruvian Space Punks are back with their fifth album. Every single album combined different influences under one main-intention: "MAXIMUMVOLUMEROCKANDROLL"! While the previous album "Apus Revolution Rock" was a straight (garage) punk album, this one returns to the complex psychedelic roots of La Ira De Dios with lots of tripped-out hypnotic dark guitar riffs, echoes, layers and the typical epic La Ira "die-hard" guitar solos backed by a crazy rhythm section. Peru No Existe is an intense but also unique journey through space Rock and Roll which gives the listener also time to lay back to breathe in, before kickin´ his ass again and again! [more]

Living Room

This short lived German acid-psych Sextet had one private limited edition release in 1997, called "Chambers" (vinyl only). Until today it became a rare high-rated collectible among psychedelic underground fans. While numerous bands in the 90s & 2000s tried to revive the true 60/s70s spirit & sound - Living Room reached a high level in authenticity…when you hear it you will bet, that this was made in 1968!!! They used vintage equipment and effects such as Farfisa-organ, fuzz & echoing guitars, flute and two beautiful girl voices. These recordings present their previously unreleased second album, a heavy floating but also a mystic folk listening pleasure - 8 cuts which reflect Krautrock inspirations in the vains of Amon Düül 2, Hölderlins Traum... Oblivious

World In Sound finally presents the limited vinyl version of Swedish retro/heavy rock quintet Oblivious´ second album “Creating Meaning” which was already released on CD by Transubstans Records in 2013. “Creating Meaning” is about classic guitar driven retro rock with stunning vocals, sometimes straight forward boogie blues, but also with haunted and melancholic moments. Enjoy the strong and authentic flashes of the British heavy 70s blues hardrock! Somehow this 8-track album reminds of Steamhammer´s “Mountains” with more screaming and punchy guitar-work, but it also captures song structures in the vein of Led Zeppelin, UFO and Black Sabbath or contemporary likeminded groups... Obskuria

Space has no limit! - OBSKURIA is hungry for the ultimate satisfaction and will hit you like an asteroid storm straight into the face. The international project started in 2006 with Tom Brehm, the legendary guitar player from the 60s US group Dragonwyck, super-talented German keyboadist Winnie Rimbach-Sator (Karmic Society/Treacle People) and La Ira De Dios from Peru. What you hear on this album is the essence of euphoria, freedom and creativity! Through the total running time of almost 80 mins, a wide spectrum of influences are covered from Pink Floyd´s Meddle, Ummagumma, Amon Düül 2, Ashra Temple, Hawkwind and Brainticket as well as transforming 80´s (Thrash)-Metal into a natural 70s rock sound. This soundtrack concept album... [more]
Obskuria is hungry for ultimate satisfaction; feat. members of La Ira De Dios and Dragonwyck they´re best described as burning-heavy-psychedelic tone poetry, the roots of those “symphonic/orchestrated” poems go back to the early 19th century, when music was intended to inspire listeners and to consider images or moods, not to focus on following traditional patterns –free form improvisation! All 9 songs, except a Slayer cover of “Black Magic” (transformed into 60s garage-twist), were cut from instrumental one-take jams; no headphones and all performers incl. amps in one room … to feel the unfiltered natural vibes of the magical float, to get inspired in marching to the eternal outer-space-plateau as ONE unit... Orcus Chylde

The German sextet stamps an exclamation point with their debut album and its multifaceted, intelligent melodic compositions. Within their strong, epic, and dark music they combine hypnotic guitar riffs, driving euphoric solos, and spherical, vintage Hammond organ sounds with very distinct and melancholic vocals. The entire sound is supplemented by a massive, punchy rhythm duo. Their musical roots lie clearly in the psychedelic and progressive heavy rock (Krautrock) of the glorious 70's, and they will convince the listener with their originality, genuineness, and obvious passion for playing. It's a damn fresh and intense album, which will make every music lover listen attentively. [more]

Postures

The Swedish band POSTURES's release is both ambitious and mature in its presentation. It is multi-faceted, cross-genre and with a lot of love to the detail. Only insiders have heard about POSTURES because it is their debut album; 9 songs (50 min) melt from unexpected 2 min. interludes, floating ballads, "Big Riff Rock" numbers and a 13 minute instrumental Space Trip together to an intense sound spectacle.Very well produced, the album is conceptually clearly an attribute to the early 1970s, with the spirit of Pink Floyd, Yes, Can, Doors and Jefferson Airplane... Prisma Circus

The debut of Prisma Circus unleashes truly wild and authentic 1970's-atmosphere-&-energy. This album of the Spanish heavy-psychedelic trio was created purely in analogue and reflects the organic warmth and magic which made the harder, classic, guitar-driven rock from 1968 legendary. Almost all of the 8 songs, each 3-6 mins in lengths, contains at least one musical overkill section; for all those who feel the need for more speed in drums and arrangements than Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix came up with - beware - that is served here massively, woven in are remarkably catchy and spheric passages. With this timeless top album, and in expectation of excessive live shows, every fan of intense and well performed guitar rock should keep an eye on Prisma Circus... [more]

Samsara Blues Experiment

This is the first full-length album of the Berlin-based heavy-psych quartet Samsara Blues Experiment (SBE). Founded in Summer 2007 by leadguitarist/singer Christian Peters (ex-Terraplane) the band existed for barely more than one year, when they recorded “Long Distance Trip”. Their demos are already rated as some of the best underground stuff from the past years. From the completion of their recent line-up in October 2008 they have been touring large parts of Europe as well as the US-Westcoast and have naturally conquered a remarkable international fanbase on their way to establish as a truly authentic and stunning Heavy-Rock act. With a supernatural and organic flow they create an individual spirit... [more]
Fulminant, diverse and truly massive is the performance of the Berlin heavy-psychedelic quartet Samsara Blues Experiment (SBE) on their second album “Revelation & Mystery”. The successor of their cult debut album “Long Distance Trip” (WIS-3010) was kept more compact and tightly arranged without having lost the bands enthusiasm, originality and passion for each note.On their quest for perfection SBE created a guitar-driven masterpiece, containing 7 songs in 47 minutes with no weak moments. The spectrum of this musical journey ranges from grim 70s to early 80s Heavy / Space Metal roots to Classic Rock with flashes of Progressive Blues and the spherical sitar sounds of the 12 minute final blast and title track that will make you float to a blissful nirvana! [more]
Samsara Blues Experiment´s debutalbum “Long Distance Trip” was released in 2010 and left a loud bang in the Heavy Psychedelic scene. More than most recent groups the band soon became a unique brand and their debut a classic for many music lovers. Until now record collectors didn´t get the pleasure to set their turntables on fire with the 13 minute epic “Center of the Sun”, while it was already part of the regular CD-album but simply didn´t fit on the vinyl format. The B-Side of this new 12 inch collectible awaits with a recently recorded, massive 11 minute improvisation of 1970s UFO-classic "Boogie"; where the beginning reminds of the original, but after a third will switch over to the Samsara-typical guitarfreakout. Serpentina Satelite

Spaceship Landing

The Spaceship is back! With their outrageous, hypnotising and punchy self released, limited debut album from 2006 the German spacerockers set a huge exclamation point and were one of the biggest hopes in the psychedelic-heavy-doom-jam Rock scene. They got booked by the most important Festivals like Roadburn (NL) and Stoned from the Undergroud and left a really convincing and still lasting impression. The musical intention is heavily leaned on the jam krautrock of the early 1970s, predominantly epic, passionately played, and heated up by hard driven vintage fuzz/wahwah of guitar riffs and a massively marching rhythm section. Their psychedelic improvisations from partly far over 10 mins leave also the place for experimental passages... [more]

Sun And The Wolf

World In Sound presents its first release with Kiwi roots with the young and ambitious quartet “Sun and the Wolf”. Salutations is their return, the second full length album which opens the gates to a psychedelic soaked wonderland. The nine analog recorded cuts are dynamically arranged continuing on from the explosive and overdriven rhythm and blues that their debut LP "White Buffalo" boasted, while exploring darker realms of fuzz driven psychedelia with catchy riffage and splashes of The Beatles´ lysergic era. Tales of heartbreak, debauchery and deceit echoing from a far away room, the guitar driven sound shows a band soulful and haunted in their delivery, live and on record. [more]

Their ten original cuts now are darker, more hypnotic and punchy, truly 70s heavy-psych-blues rooted but also timeless – with various influences from Black Sabbath over Danzig to Black Keys. The recordings were made during their first European tour in summer 2010, where they shared the stage at legendary German Burg Herzberg Festival with Jeff Beck and Hawkwind. The Illiad

The iLLiad is a young quintet from Ohio. A creatively produced demo put World In Sound´s attention to the band leader Kyle Pittman, an introverted and deeply emotional singer and guitarist. "A Sad Day on Pluto” was recorded in Cleveland, Ohio (2007) and contains 13 original tunes reflecting a tasty spectrum between early Pink Floyd jamming, 60s garage/flower-power and loner Folk style, and feature very catchy lyrics combined with interesting "psychedelicate" melodies. Pittman´s music captures a unique style of composing fresh music with the influences of Syd Barrett´s Pink Floyd, West Coast Pop Art Exp. Band, Velvet Underground, Marc Bolan and David Bowie.
